Metaverse developer Simuality has launched a donations drive within Second Life to raise money to aid the relief efforts in Burma, following the recent cyclone. Kiosks to take donations are being placed around the virtual world, as well as on Simuality's network of websites.

Sport Relief charity launches dedicated Second Life island

It might sound a bit strange for a charity based on getting people exercising in the real world to launch in Second Life, but that's what UK-based Sport Relief has done with the Sport Relief Island. Its aim: to raise funds from Linden Lab's community during the weekend of 14-16 March.
