More news of investment in the virtual worlds space. US firm EveryScape has secured a $7 million funding round (its second) led by Dace Ventures, and with participation from Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Draper Fisher New England, Draper Atlantic, and LaunchPad Venture Group.
EveryScape’s business is based on building virtual versions of global tourist destinations, including Times Square in New York, the Great Wall of China, and Aspen, Colorado. Visitors can then wander around seeing the virtual sights.
The company plans to launch in the next few weeks, and says it’ll use the new funds to boost its sales team, add more cities to its roadmap, and build community features around its virtual sites.
