Makena Technologies has teamed up with the Humane Society of the United States on a new animal welfare campaign within its There.com virtual world. It’ll include a one-off event on 29th October, and then a virtual store selling Humane Society merchandise from the charity, with all proceeds going to the charity. There appears to be a decent fit with There.com’s community, judging by Makena CEO Michael Wilson’s comments: “The virtual dogs that we offer in There.com are incredibly popular, and it’s clear that we have a large number of members who are animal lovers.
