Metaverse developer Simuality has launched a donations drive within Second Life to raise money to aid the relief efforts in Burma, following the recent cyclone. Kiosks to take donations are being placed around the virtual world, as well as on Simuality's network of websites.
The in-world donations are being collected in Linden dollars, and will then be converted to real-world money and given to the International Red Cross to support its relief efforts in the stricken country. For more information, you can visit the Simuality welcome centre on its own island (SLurl link).
It’s a good idea, and really encouraging to see an agency using its knowledge of Second Life to raise fund in this way.
