Comments [0] | 20 June 2007

Today the virtual city of Amsterdam inside Second Life was acquired by 3dutch.com, a 3D-platform of the Dutch based company BOOM BV. Financial details were not disclosed. 3dutch.com is a platform of BOOM BV, a Dutch based company operating on the internet since 1997 through its financial based portal Beurs.nl and weather based portal, Buienradar.nl. The previous owner, Kevin Alderman or better known as alter ego, Stroker Serpentine, put the Amsterdam sim on sale two months ago. Stroker said in a statement: "I am pleased we found a good company for my Amsterdam baby. Amsterdam started off 3 years ago and grew to one of the more busier places of Second Life. 3dutch will be able to bring Amsterdam another step forward in the virtual world of Second Life yet keep its identity in SL." Stefan Rijkaart ("Stefan Waydelich" in SL), of BOOM said: "We acquired Amsterdam to gain experience with the virtual 3D environment on the internet which is a completely new addition to our existing internet activities
