Following the success of last year's inaugural Virtual Worlds Forum Europe, we're pleased to announce details of this year's event. The Virtual Worlds Forum Europe 2008 will take place in London on 6-7 October, with workshops following on 8 October. The theme is 'Enterprise, Education and Entertainment', and we have a new venue - The Bridge - which offers twice as much space as last year, and will accommodate some exciting new show elements.

Key themes at this year’s event will be:

- The emergence of enterprise virtual worlds for competitive advantage
- What are VCs, investors and private equity looking for in investments?
- How do virtual worlds and web 2.0 strategies make a difference to your marketing strategy?
- Collaborative working and knowledge management in virtual worlds
- Harnessing virtual worlds for educational institutions
- Virtual worlds and MMOs - entertainment’s latest platform?
- Being social: harnessing social networks, virtual worlds and MMOs to create community

Last year’s event attracted more than 480 delegates from 23 countries, as well as over 50 supporting organisations and media partnerships - including SXSWi (South by South West interactive). This year’s will expand on that, with current sponsors of VWFE 2008 including Entropia Universe, Forterra, Habbo Hotel, Fatfoogoo, Parature and Iovation, with more to be announced. Here’s a word from our founder and CEO Sasha Frieze:

“We have spent months undertaking detailed research to develop the right content and themes, ones that meet delegate demand rather than deliver sponsor sales pitches. We have also devoted considerable time to finding a London venue with the combined space and personality to make a creative immersive environment for our sponsors and exhibitors. With those elements now in place, and with us currently finalising what will be a tremendous panel of speakers, this year’s event promises to be even better than last year’s hugely successful debut.”

This year’s line-up of speakers and further details of the event will be announced in the near future. You can sign up for notifications on our website.
