Freaky Creatures closed beta due to kick off on 15th July

Abandon Interactive Entertainment has announced that its closed beta for the innovative Freaky Creatures MMO will start on 15th July, with registration open now on its website. The game's been trailed for a couple of years now, but is finally set to launch, albeit in a test version for selected players.

Why is Freaky Creatures worth watching? It’s one of the first truly cross-platform MMOs, designed for seamless PC-to-PC, PC-to-mobile and mobile-to-mobile play. The basic idea is familiar though - players create monsters from a selection of body parts, then send them off to battle each other online.

There’s also a physical aspect, with collectable toys that come with flash drives, which when slotted into your PC let you play with those creatures online, or sideload them to your mobile phone. Abandon is using technology from Exit Games to power Freaky Creatures - a company with a long pedigree in connected mobile gaming, which should ensure a smooth ride. Meanwhile, Abandon has also teamed up with Alienware to offer a free laptop to one beta tester, as an incentive for people to sign up.
