Etsy considers crocheting its own virtual world

Comments [0] | 9 May 2007

Etsy, the online community for makers and sellers of crafts, has its real-world headquarters near the Manhattan Bridge in Brooklyn. It's now considering creating a Flash-based virtual world that would be an online bazaar for Etsy crafters, reports 3pointd.com. The move has been inspired by Game Neverending, the massively multiplayer online game, and Ultima Online. The Etsy world would be complete with virtual currency, that would function as an online bazaar shoppers could roam around in. Etsy has around 300,000 registered members of whom around 40,000 are sellers, and employs 21 full-time employees.
