Last week saw the unveiling of Coca Cola's Virtual Thirst campaign in Second Life. Well, to be accurate, it saw the unveiling of the winning designs for giant Coke puzzle bottles from the drinks company's Virtual Thirst competition, run in collaboration with Millions Of Us and Crayon.
Emerie May was the winner, with her designs for three bottles that have puzzles inside. When solved, they reveal "an interactive experience" for the winner and people nearby (isn't a puzzle an interactive experience?), as well as giving the winner a special Coke prize.
Emerie's bottles will now be scattered around Second Life, with Millions Of Us maintaining a blog post (link below) with their locations. What I like about this campaign is the user-generated element: rather than just slapping down a Coke Island and expecting people to come, the company has engaged more with the Second Life community, with imaginative results.
